HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
Environmental 360 Solutions Inc. is committed to the health and safety of all employees, partners, contractors, customers, and the general public.
Environmental 360 Solutions Inc. strives to provide its employees with a safe and healthy work environment. To accomplish this goal both the company its partners and employees must diligently undertake efforts to promote safety.
We also undertake the responsibility to educate our employees about hazards in the workplace and to train employees on such hazards and the proper and safe method to perform job tasks.
Employees shall devote their full time skill and attention to the performance of their job responsibilities utilizing the highest standard of care and good judgment.
All employees of Environmental 360 Solutions Inc. are responsible for ensuring the safety program is continually updated and maintained, and are responsible and accountable for our overall safety initiatives.
We have developed and implemented safety rules and regulations. This process is ongoing and requires periodic safety audits. Safety audits are undertaken to determine the necessity and feasibility of providing protective clothing, devices and safeguards to make the workplace safe and healthy.
Employees will follow all safety rules and regulations at all times including the use of protective clothing, devices, equipment and attendance at all training sessions related to the employee’s job description, and follow the directions of warning signs, signals and the directions of management personnel.
Safety rules and regulations will be issued or modified from time to time and shall be effective immediately.
Rules and regulations will be distributed to employees and posted and distributed accord to our Standard Operating Procedures Guidelines.
All job-related injuries or illnesses are to be reported to management immediately, regardless of severity. In the case of serious injury, an employee’s reporting obligation will be deferred until circumstances reasonably permit a report to be made.
The ultimate goal of our health and safety policy is to have an incident-free environment and ensure, as far as reasonably possible, the health and safety of all workers on a work-site.
Environmental 360 Solutions Inc. management is committed to the following:
- Comply with applicable Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations, Industry Standards, and our own Standard Operating Procedures Policy’s
- Remain sensitive to the concerns of the general public
- Make safety considerations an integral part of the planning process
- Exercise sound judgment and common sense when undertaking any work-related tasks
- Identify and reduce the negative impact of our operations on the environment
- Respond to safety emergencies in a prompt, efficient manner
- Ensure employees know their health and safety responsibilities and resources are available for employee safety training
- Understand any potential health, safety, or environmental issues that employees, partners and contractors may encounter while working for Environmental 360 Solutions Inc.
Environmental 360 Solutions Inc. employees, partners and contractors are responsible for the following:
- Comply with all Federal, Provincial, Local and Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) Guidelines and Legislation.
- Follow safe work procedures
- Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and devices
- Participate in safety training
- Inform management about any unsafe work conditions or injuries, no matter how small they may seem
- Refuse to perform any work or operate equipment that would put them or any other employee in danger
- Take reasonable care to protect themselves and all other co-workers on a work-site
Management, employees, partners and contractors are all committed to meeting this policy, now and in the future.
Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) is designed to help you lower your premiums by encouraging injury prevention and the development of effective workplace health, safety and return-to-work plans. Specifically, it can help you:
- Decrease your worker’s time away from work.
- Reduce any additional hiring or training costs.
- Reduce costs associated with claims.
It is a voluntary program that operates through the combined efforts of WCB, the Ministry of Labour, industry partners, safety associations, employers and labour groups.
All employers can participate in the program and be eligible for refunds up to 20 per cent by maintaining a Certificate of Recognition (COR).
To determine the refund amount you may be eligible for, we have three different performance measures we can use. In reviewing your performance, we will always use the measure that helps you achieve the greatest refund.
- Achieving a certificate of recognition (COR)
A COR is awarded to employers who have developed a health and safety program that meets standards established by the Ministry of Labour and an accredited certifying partner.
To achieve a COR, you must get at least 50 per cent on each element of an audit and have an overall score of 80 per cent. After earning a COR, you are eligible for a 10 per cent industry rate refund for the first year and then five per cent every year you maintain the COR. PIR can help you develop a health and safety program and earn a COR.
If you are registering with PIR for the first time and have not received your COR by year end, you can have your refund carried forward for one year and applied if the COR is complete at the end of the next year.
- Improving your performance
Your performance is compared to your own historical record. You can earn industry rate refunds if you improve your claim cost performance. You will receive a one per cent refund for every one per cent that you improve your performance, up to a maximum of 20 per cent. Earning a COR can help you improve your performance and achieve this measure.
To recognize that it takes time to build effective health and safety programs, you have a one-year grace period to achieve your COR and still be eligible for the refund under this measure.
- Maintaining industry leadership
Your performance is compared to your industry average. You can earn refunds from 10 per cent to the maximum of 20 per cent if you perform significantly better than your industry average over two consecutive years.
